The Fort Cumberland Guard have depicted the Royal Marines in 1860s uniform at this fort for several years now and provide a colourful display of drill, musketry, soldiery around the fort and including soldier school for children. We welcome visitors to enjoy what they see and to ask questions. You also have the opportunity to join us as a member.
Fort Brockhurst is open to the public and a ‘free to enter’ site open times 11am-3pm
Fort Brockhurst - Victorian Military Manoeuvres Weekend (3rd year)

The Fort Cumberland Guard, Royal Marines of 1860s will be joined this weekend by the Victorian Association for a Victorian Military Manoeuvres Spectacular.
The Victorian Association comprises of several of the top UK Victorian re-enactment societies comes together. Get a realistic day insight to a soldier’s life at the fort and camping on manoeuvres. Watch soldiers practicing various roles and drill, supported by the Victorian ladies and gentlemen of the town in their bustle dresses and top hats.
The event is open to the public and runs from 10am until 4pm on Saturday and Sunday
Christmas Ships on HMS Warrior (3rd year)

The Fort Cumberland Guard depict Royal Marines in their 1860s rig and will be making their presence known on and off board HMS Warrior. We will give a display of drill and musketry or just come along and talk to us about HMS Warrior and the role of the Royal Marines on and off ship.
On board the crew are going about their usual duties making decorations for the Christmas festivities on the Ship as well as writing their Christmas Wish to families at home.
HMS Warrior was the largest warship in the world. Victorian’s flocked to see her as she went on her special cruise around Britain in 1863. Portsmouth Historic Dockyard is open to the public and a 'pay to enter' site.
